What is 16th Scents?
16th Scentsury Candles is a family-run candle and scent company founded in 2019 by Jan and Christina with the dream of creating high-quality candles that carried a long-lasting fragrance. What started as an idea in their basement, with the help of their kids Kyla and Luci, grew during the pandemic into a full product line designed and developed by hand. In Fall 2021, 16th Scentsury Candles began selling at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival, and by Summer 2022 expanded into soap and other scent-based goods. Since then, the company has produced and distributed over 3,000 candles nationwide while continuing to grow a strong community of customers who value both the quality of the products and the relationships built along the way. As the kinds of products expanded beyond candles, 16th Scentsury Candles became simply 16th Scents, a brand that now offers a wide variety of handmade items including candles, soaps, skincare, bath bombs, laundry soap, incense, shower soothers, “smelly balls,” and even natural mouse and bug repellent — all crafted with care, family spirit, and a passion for making memories.
Are your candles safe for pets and children?
YES, our candles are made with phthalate-free fragrance oils and clean-burning wax blends, making them safer for use around pets and children when burned as directed. We always recommend keeping lit candles out of reach of kids and animals, never leaving them unattended, and ensuring good ventilation in your home for the safest experience.
Do you offer custom candles or wholesale options?
YES, we offer custom candle creations for special events like weddings, fundraisers, and corporate gifts. We also provide wholesale opportunities for boutiques, gift shops, and festival vendors who want to carry 16th Scents products. How many hours do your candles burn?
Our large candles burn for approximately 60–80 hours, while our small candles burn for about 10 hours when used as directed.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Orders are typically processed within 2–3 business days. Standard U.S. shipping usually takes 3–7 business days, depending on your location. You’ll receive a tracking number once your order ships so you can follow it every step of the way.
What should I do if my candle arrives damaged?
If your candle arrives broken or damaged, please contact us right away at [email protected] with your order number and a photo of the product. We’ll be happy to send a replacement or issue a store credit so you can get a candle you’ll love.
Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept payments through Square, Stripe, and PayPal for fast and secure checkout. At this time, Cash on Delivery is unavailable, but we’re always working to make payment as convenient as possible for our customers.
Do you offer gift cards?
At this time, we do not offer gift cards. However, many of our customers love surprising friends and family with our candles and scent products as thoughtful gifts.
Do you offer any discounts or promotions?
Yes, we do! We have a special pricing structure when you purchase our candles in bundles.
Large Candle Bundle: A single large candle is $23. When you buy a bundle of 3, the price is just $65, saving you money on each candle.
Small Candle Bundle: A single small candle is $8. When you buy a bundle of 3, the price is just $22.
